Most people in FP&A are looking for that perfect balance between complex commercial challenges and work that actually means something. This is that role. You’ll be joining a highly respected organisation focused on ensuring young people have the support they need to be defined by their potential, not their circumstances.
You aren't coming in to build the house from scratch, the current incumbent has done a fantastic job of laying a solid foundation. Your job is to take those reins and elevate the function into a high-level strategic engine that directly influences where the organisation goes next.
What’s in it for you? This is a rare blend of complex commercial finance and genuine social purpose.
You’ll report directly to the CFO and have a very real seat at the table with the CEO and the Board. Your work won’t just sit in a folder; it will shape multi-year strategies and ensure the organisation stays sustainable and impactful.
While you’ll start as an individual contributor, there is a clear path to build and lead your own team as the function continues to grow.
What you’ll actually be doing You’ll be the bridge between the numbers and the mission. This means:
- Taking ownership of the annual budgeting and forecasting process, always looking for ways to make it sharper.
- Maintaining and evolving sophisticated, multi-year financial models that translate big-picture strategy into clear financial plans.
- Acting as a true partner to senior leaders, helping them understand their performance and manage risks before they become problems.
- You'll be leveraging tools like Power BI to create the kind of executive and board reporting that doesn’t just show data, but tells a clear story and drives the organisation’s high-stakes decision-making.
- Keeping a close eye on cash flow and identifying opportunities to redirect funds toward life-changing programs.
Who are you? You’re likely a seasoned finance professional (think 5-7+ years) with a heavy lean toward commercial analysis and modelling. You’re probably a CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA who loves the technical side. Advanced Excel is your second language but you’re also someone who can walk into a room of executives and hold your own.
You don’t necessarily need a background in the not-for-profit sector, though if you understand grant management or restricted funding, that’s a huge plus.
Most importantly, you’re someone who wants their work to matter. You’ll be joining a team that lives by values like integrity, dedication, and respect.
