Position Overview:
The General Manager of Finance will play a pivotal role in overseeing all financial operations and ensuring the financial health of (Company Name). You will manage financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and internal controls while leading a high-performing finance team. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations (GAAP/IFRS). Manage external audits and ensure financial reporting meets internal and external standards.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting. Work closely with department heads to align financial goals with operational and strategic business objectives.
- Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow to maintain the company’s financial stability. Develop and implement strategies to optimize working capital and ensure the availability of resources for growth initiatives.
- Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and performance excellence. Ensure the team is equipped to meet the company’s financial and operational needs as it scales.
- Strategic Decision Support:
Provide financial analysis and insights to the executive team, supporting strategic decision-making across the business. Participate in key business reviews, growth plans, and capital investment decisions.
- Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency. Continuously review and enhance financial processes to drive efficiency and improve financial reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- CPA, CA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification required.
- Minimum of seven years of relevant financial experience, with at least three years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in managing a finance function in a fast-paced, growing organisation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in [specific sector] preferred but not essential.
