Position Overview:
The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in analysing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights that inform strategic business decisions. You will work closely with finance and operations teams to develop financial models, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and deliver actionable insights that drive business performance. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a keen interest in financial data, and the ability to communicate insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
Analyse financial data and trends to provide insights on performance, profitability, and cost management. Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards for senior management.
- Financial Modelling:
Develop and maintain complex financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis. Use financial models to assess potential business opportunities, investments, and strategic initiatives.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts. Work closely with department heads to track financial performance against budgeted targets and provide insights on variances.
- Performance Monitoring & KPIs:
Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) across the business. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Variance Analysis:
Conduct variance analysis to compare actual financial results with forecasts and budgets. Identify the drivers of variances and work with teams to address discrepancies.
- Strategic Decision Support:
Provide financial insights and analysis to support key strategic initiatives, including market expansion, new product development, and capital investments. Assist in the preparation of business cases and presentations for senior leadership.
- Process Improvement:
Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and data accuracy. Implement best practices in financial analysis and data management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis or a related finance role.
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling and Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience with financial software and systems (e.g., ERP, financial reporting tools) is a plus.
