Position Overview:
The Commercial Analyst will analyse business performance, pricing strategies, and market trends to provide actionable insights that drive revenue growth and profitability. You will work closely with the finance and commercial teams to prepare financial models, analyse performance data, and support the company’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance, sales, and profitability across different business units. Prepare reports highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities, helping drive strategic decision-making.
- Pricing & Revenue Analysis:
Analyse pricing strategies and recommend adjustments to optimise profitability and competitiveness. Monitor the impact of pricing changes on margins and revenue growth, providing actionable insights to the commercial team.
- Forecasting & Budgeting Support:
Assist in preparing financial forecasts and budgets, working closely with department heads to align financial goals with business objectives. Track actual performance against forecast and budget, identifying variances and providing insights for corrective action.
- Market & Competitor Analysis:
Analyse market trends and competitor performance to provide insights into the company’s pricing and positioning strategies. Identify growth opportunities based on market data and competitor activities.
- Business Case Development:
Support the preparation of business cases for new initiatives, product launches, or investments. Conduct financial evaluations, including ROI analysis, to assess the viability and potential impact of these initiatives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, and marketing, to provide financial insights that support business growth. Act as a key point of contact for financial queries from commercial teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial or commercial analysis.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience in pricing analysis and revenue management is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
